In early 2008, An Austinite who was working as a district manager for one of the “big guys” in the fast food industry, overseeing the operations of over 50 stores in the Greater Austin area with many years of experience in the business. Noticed that while more and more all natural and organic foods were finding their way onto the shelves of even big chain grocers, the fast food industry as a whole was failing to embrace the organic and “green” revolution that was re-shaping the food industry.
Another fellow Austinite, natural food lover and Manager of Aerendgast Capital, agreed. Fast food didn't have to be junk food. It needed a modern, all natural, organic, and sustainable alternative. As someone who used to ride his bike down to the tiny, original Whole Foods store way back in 1980, he's been a longtime patron, and thought their philosophy could be applied to fast food.
An introduction was made, a partnership forged, and TerraBurger was born.
